Q: What is ZK Finger SDK?
A: ZK Finger SDK is the name of ZK biometric identification algorithm for short. It is the core technology of the ZK intelligent property and well known in the world. ZK Finger SDK could be applied in the minutia identification like fingerprint, face, and iris. The license release is one form of the main business in ZK.

Q: How to apply the ZK Finger SDK to my application program?
A: ZK provide several kinds of SDK like ZK Finger SDK and ZkOnline SDK. You couldbuytheproper one andwrite your program according to the interface function provided in it in your familiar languages like VC ,VB and Delphi. ZK Finger SDKprovides demo source code for your reference, furthermore, we provide Active X for you to test in VC, VB and Delphi in order to make programming easy.

Q: Is the free evaluation to ZK Finger SDK available?
A: We provide free evaluation. The website is http://www.zksoftware.com/biokey7_e.asp, If you don’t have sensor, you could use the fingerprint database in the evaluation version or use wax print or buy sensors from ZK.

Q: What kind of sensor does ZK Finger SDK support?
A: The sensors we suggest using are: U.are.U , Authentec , ST Touchchip, Compaq FP Sensor, Identix DFR 200.

Q: If I want to use ZK Finger SDK, but use our own sensor, how could I do?
A: The standard version SDK we provide could accept the image in the form of BMP, GIF, so you could utilize the interface function for the fingerprint image to connect your own sensor.

Q: Are there ZK Finger SDK only Windows version?
A: No, beside Windows version, ZK Finger SDK has the versions of Linux , Unix, CE, Palm OS, Epoc. Running ZK Finger SDK occupies a little memory, so it is easy to program the SDK for other O/S to run ZK Finger SDK .

Q: Does ZK Finger SDK support single chip system?
A: At present ZK Finger SDK supports Ti DSP, Intel ARM, Strong ARM, Motorola DragonBall, Transmeta Crusoe. Also we have the ability to customerized design for your need.

Q: Why cannot I find the difference of speed identification between 10 users and 1000 users? Both of them are during 1-2 sec.
A: ZK Finger SDK is high-speed identification algorithm. You cannot value its speed if the database is for several scoreusers.

Q: Now, many algorithms cannot achieve remote matching, why ZK Finger SDK can?
A: ZK Finger SDK supplies the remote and local matching; you can apply the remote matching in Internet and other application.

Q: I am using other company fingerprint algorithm. I want to change to ZK Finger SDK, is it possible?
A: If you have the archive of the fingerprint images, it is easy to change. But if you only have fingerprint templates, the change is very difficult.

Q: Is there a public standard for fingerprint images storage? Using live pattern or stamp image for storage?
A: The fingerprint image for civil is more than 300DPI, but the FBI standard fingerprint for crime is 500DPI, so we suggest that it is better to store 500DPI images in the government project, its gray scale 8 class, the size of image is not less than 280X400 pixels. 

Q: What is the proper fingerprint template size?
A: As every fingerprint algorithm structure and standard is not same, the size of fingerprint template is not the same. In the international rules, the size of fingerprint template for civil is 256 bytes, when the template is too small, it will effect FAR. The template is too big, it will effect system and store space.

Q: If the data of fingerprint template are intercepted during transmission, then make the data to transfer into matching system, does Biokey have disadvantage?
A: We have a security solution which we have authorized is one-time valid; it is useless just to intercepted the data of fingerprint template.

Q: Why there are so many algorithms on the market, they are almost 1:1 algorithm, but the excellent one 1: many is so seldom?
A: The 1:1 algorithm, mainly used in log on, is simple. There are only several users in computer, the algorithm is easy to research and low cost, but the 1: N algorithm is complex, it is very difficult to research, and require professor to do it, so that the profess supplier of 1:N algorithm is a few in the Global.

Q: Why many company algorithms cannot recognize the finger that is placed in any angle, but ZK Finger SDK can?
A: Because the special technology of Zksoftware is added into the parameter of minutia description, ZK Finger SDK could support 360 degree rotation, which make client use it freely.

Q: Why some fingerprint algorithm can be implanted in single chip system, but some fingerprint algorithm run slowly even on PC?
A: The space is very important parameter to run algorithm, if the space is large, the algorithm can not be implanted into single chip system, ZK Finger SDK is only about 250k, so it is easy to be implanted.

Q: We often heard some factory said: how excellent their algorithm excellent is, how to evaluate a business algorithm.
A: We kwon  to evaluate  a excellent business algorithm , not only  form FAR, FRR  acutance, false, etc , but also It is known that  one excellent algorithm must include such specifications that

2. If can support rotation press?
3. If can accept different fingerprint image quality?
